Ice-T extends deal at 'Law & Order: SVU'

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - While it remains unclear who will replace Chris Meloni on "Law & Order: SVU," one thing is clear: Ice-T will be returning to the veteran cop show.
The rapper-turned-actor, who has played hard-nosed Detective Fin Tutuola since Season 2, announced on Twitter that he has signed a two-year deal to return for the NBC series' upcoming 13th, and if renewed, 14th seasons.
The actor also tweeted an update on the show's staffing: "No one else is locked as new members of the show."
Meloni, who headlined the show with Mariska Hargitay since its debut in 1999, announced in May that he would be exiting in the fall. Hargitay is scaling back her commitment to the show after adopting a baby girl with her husband in April.
NBC Entertainment president Robert Greenblatt told reporters during last month's "upfront" presentation for advertisers in New York that the network had plans to "reset the tone" of the series.
Ice-T, who recently published his second memoir, stars in a new reality show "Ice Loves Coco," premiering Sunday on E!
